The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment was developed for speech therapy for patients with Parkinson’s Disease. It was advanced from the voice treatment to LSVT BIG. LSVT BIG focuses on increasing the patient’s balance, improving, gait, improving strength, and improving mobility. The program focuses on intensive repetitive movements performed over 4 weeks. Sessions will last for 60 minutes. You and your physical therapist will perform a specific protocol followed by specializations to address your specific goals.

While this program was developed for Parkinson’s Disease, it can be used to treat a variety of other impairments. Individuals with general deconditioning, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, strokes, and balance disorders may benefit from the program.
