Canyon Therapy, formerly Canyon Hand Therapy, recently underwent a name change to more accurately reflect their expanded areas of service. Owner, Allison Tipton is a Certified Hand & Occupational Therapist specializing in treating upper extremity diagnoses from the shoulder to the hand. New to the staff are Amanda Kolstad, a Physical Therapist and Beau Tipton, a Physical Therapist Assistant. Together Allison, Amanda and Beau now offer specialized treatment covering the entire body, from head to toe. For results-oriented physical & occupational therapy – rely on Canyon Therapy!

Meet the Canyon Therapy Staff

Allison is an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist. She graduated magna sum laude from the University of North Dakota in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. Allison has experience in a variety of occupational therapy settings including early intervention (0-5 population), school districts, home health, long term care, and outpatient. She and her family moved to Cody in 2001 to take advantage of the opportunities offered in the Big Horn Basin. At that time she decided to pursue her hand therapy certification to better serve the people in the community. Allison has been a certified hand therapist since 2002. When not working, Allison loves to spend time with her family, fish, play cards, read and spend time in the outdoors.
Ali is an occupational therapist who is excited to be joining the team at Canyon Therapy. She received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology & Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming in 2010, and her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Washington University in 2012. After graduation, Ali worked with children with developmental disabilities in Billings, MT for 3 years before relocating to join Canyon Therapy in September 2015. Ali and her husband are originally from Powell and are excited to be back in the Big Horn Basin. Outside of work, Ali enjoys spending time with her husband and family, traveling, snowshoeing, baking and reading.
Catherine is a graduate of Casper College, WY with certification in their COTA program. Catherine loves to help people return to their daily living through occupational therapy and finds it very rewarding. Catherine joined Canyon Therapy in January of 2013 and is thrilled to be working with a group of skilled and caring therapists. Aside from work, Catherine enjoys spending time with her husband, camping, sewing, and traveling on their motorcycle together. Catherine has four children.
Kelsey is a Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer. He has been working in the Cody area since 2003. He received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training and Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. He joined the team at Canyon Therapy in 2016. Kelsey’s interests lie in outpatient physical therapy, orthopedics, and sports medicine. In 2014 Kelsey completed his board certification as a clinical specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. He also holds certifications for Kinesio Taping and Functional Capacity Evaluations. He is certified as a Lee Silverman Speech Therapy (LSVT) BIG clinician, which focuses on improving strength and balance for patients’ with Parkinson’s disease. Kelsey has volunteered for the last 10 years with the Yellowstone Quake junior hockey team providing medical coverage for their games. Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, hiking, exploring Yellowstone Park, and photography.
Amanda Kolstad | Canyon Therapy | Physical & Occupational Therapy | Cody WyomingAmanda has worked as a physical therapist in the Big Horn Basin since 2006. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology and Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Mary in Bismarck North Dakota. Amanda’s interests lie in outpatient physical therapy, women’s health, and sports medicine. She is certified as Lee Silverman Speech Therapy (LSVT) BIG clinician, which focuses on improving strength and balance for patients’ with Parkinson’s disease. She volunteers with the Yellowstone Quake hockey team providing their medical coverage for home games and writing medical newsletters for their off season.
Beau is a physical therapist assistant with over 12 years of experience including hospital-based care and outpatient therapy services. He has been providing services in the Cody area since 2001. Beau’s interests include: outpatient physical therapy, post-operative orthopedic care especially total joint replacements and balance re-education. Beau enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Greg is a Rocky Mountain College graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in business management and administration. Greg joined Canyon Therapy in 2011 and has managed the clinic to provide the professionalism and respect both the employees and the patients deserve. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys while enjoying the outdoors.
